PCD (Pre-Coating Decontaminant) is Revivify's professional-grade surface preparation solution. It's the critical first step in every Revivify coating application. After paint correction, surfaces retain invisible residues from polishing compounds, oils, and other contaminants that create a barrier between the coating and the surface. PCD eliminates these contaminants completely, ensuring maximum coating adhesion and long-term performance.
While isopropyl alcohol (IPA) is commonly used for surface prep in the detailing industry, PCD is purpose-built for Revivify coatings and outperforms IPA in several ways. PCD is specifically formulated to remove the types of residues that interfere with silicon-based coating adhesion — including polishing compound residues, surface oils, and contaminants that IPA may leave behind or incompletely remove. Using PCD ensures the coating bonds at maximum strength.
PCD is a water-based spray application. After paint correction is complete, spray PCD directly onto the surface and wipe clean with a fresh microfiber towel. Work one panel at a time to ensure complete coverage. The product evaporates after application — there's no cure time required. Once the surface is wiped clean and dry, it's ready for immediate coating application.
